15+ km; Mod-Fast; 4+hrs; Loop hike through Albion Hills Conservation Area. The
hike will be a mix of gentle wide track trails and challenging, steeper, single track
trails. Bring drinks/snacks/lunch. Consider wearing long pants to protect against
ticks. Bug repellant and sunscreen are recommended.
Albion Hills Conservation Area is widely recognized as Ontario’s first
conservation area, having opened in 1955. It is located in the rolling hills of
Caledon, on the banks of the Humber River. The area contains mature forests,
wetlands and to a lesser extent, meadows. There are numerous recreational
facilities within the park including hiking, mountain biking, camping, swimming
and disc golf.
Please note that there is a fee to enter the park. This fee can either be paid online in
advance at https://www.TRCA.ca/parks/albion-hills-conservation-area, or at the front gate. The
front gate opens at 9am.
Meeting Place/Parking: Albion Hills Conservation Area is located at 16500
Highway 50, approximately 10 km north of Bolton and 5 km south of Highway 9,
on the west side of Highway 50. Once you proceed through the front gates, take the
first left and follow the signs towards the chalet.
