Uxbridge - Glen Major (Conc. 6 - aggregate pit) mod - fast hike, Teri Tworzyanski

Members only hike. Pre-registration mandatory.

ORTA Map 5; 12-15 km; Mod-Fast; 4+hrs; Loop hike through Glen Major. Lots of Hills! The actual time and distance will be dependent upon trail and weather conditions. 

Be prepared for winter conditions. Bring your icers/snowshoes, drinks, snacks/lunch.

Come out to explore this area of rolling hills.  Formerly the site of a large gravel pit, the area is now comprised of beautiful mixed coniferous-deciduous forests, meadows and wetlands. Much of the surrounding property was previously used for agriculture.  Old farm roads and farm building foundations are still evident. 

Meeting place/Parking: Meet at parking lot on east side of Uxbridge Conc. 6, 0.6km north of Uxbridge Town Line or 5.5 km south of Durham Road 21.

Please arrive by 9:15am for a 9:30 start.

Please note that this is a pay parking lot.  The location name is Aggregate Pit.  Where possible, hikers are encouraged to carpool from alternate locations (Brock Tract or Pleasure Valley parking lots off Brock Rd. or Wilder or North Walker Woods roadside parking on Concession 6) with fellow hikers to reduce parking fees.  Uxbridge residents are not required to pay for parking but are still required to register for a 'No-Charge Special Permit'.  Details regarding the Uxbridge parking system and HotSpot App can be found at :
