Members and non-members welcome.
Non-members are required to contact the hike leader by 6 pm the evening before to ensure that this hike is suitable for you.
ORTA Map 5; 10 km; 3 hrs including shuttle; moderate-fast pace (4-4.5 km/hr).
Bring icers (may be needed), water, and snacks. This 10 km hike will take us from Lincolnville Lane at the York-Durham Boundary east across the Goodwood Tract past the Secord Pond and pet cemetery established by the late Dr. Alan Secord. Expect wet conditions in the first section of the hike and hilly terrain throughout. We will finish the hike where the trail intersects with Concession Rd. 4 in Uxbridge.
This will be a through hike, not a loop hike – we will be meeting at the endpoint, doing a shuttle to the start point and then hiking east towards the endpoint. One or more volunteers will be needed to be shuttle drivers.
For anyone working on an End-to-End Hike this is one of an occasional series of hikes along the Oak Ridges Main Trail, mostly on the off-road sections, starting in the west and working eastwards into Durham Region.
This is the first of 3 hikes in Durham Region. No dogs please.
Registration is limited to 12 hikers.
PARKING: Roadside parking, west side of Concession Rd 4 approximately half-way between Goodwood Rd and Webb Rd
