Hope - Ganaraska Forest (East), Slow-Moderate, Scott Cecchin

ORTA Map 9; 11km; 3-4 hours; Join us for a short series of hikes crossing the Hope/Hamilton section of the ORTA main trail. This hike will go eastward on the main trail between the Ganaraska Forest Centre and Beatty Ln. We’ll walk on sandy road allowance trails, dirt footpaths, and some quiet country roads. We will meet at Beatty Ln (see coordinates) and shuttle to our start point from there.

Since we will be walking through Ganaraska Forest property, all hikers will be required to purchase a $7 Ganaraska Day Pass (kiosk available at our hike start). As noted, this hike involves a shuttle, so be prepared to drive your car with other hikers. As always, be prepared for the weather, wear hiking shoes/boots, and bring sufficient water and food.

Meet up by 9:00 for a 9:05 shuttle.

PARKING: Roadside parking area at the end of Beatty Lane (west of Gilmour Rd).
