ORTA Map #7: 12.5 km/ 4 hours This hike is a part of an End-to-End Series. You are welcome to join in for a single hike or come along for the full journey. This is an “Ontario Country Roads” hike that reveals wonderful countryside properties that you wouldn’t see on a forest hike. We will pass the small historic spot named “Burketon Station” which appeared in the 1880’s when a railway was built from Montreal to Toronto. It passed the small Ontario towns of Smiths Falls, Havelock and Peterborough. During the 1930’s and 1940’s people drove from miles around to buy ice cream cones at Burketon. Preparing for the Hike: Dress in layers, wear comfortable footwear, bring a hat and at least 2 litres of water. No dogs, and no drop-outs. Meeting Point: GPS: 44.05854, -78.75748 W3W: capable.overbuilt.strictly Streets: Avery Road and Concession Rd 10
