Due to heavy rain due this afternoon.

Members and non members welcome

2 Hours; This is a slow-paced hike on the Kawartha Land Trust’s Ballyduff Trails property. We have no set distance, but we’ll hike these trails for 2 hours. We’ll make occasional stops for nature appreciation, as well. The property is located atop the Oak Ridges Moraine, and contains restored tallgrass prairie, forest, and wetland habitats. Expect hills, mud, and bugs. Leashed dogs are welcome.

ANY SPECIAL NOTES AND WHAT HIKERS MUST OR SHOULD BRING: Bring water. Sturdy footwear required. Poles optional for tackling mud and hills. Practice tick prevention. Consider bringing anything that helps you appreciate nature (eg. binoculars, hand lens, field guides/apps, etc.).

If this type of slower-paced weekday afternoon hike in the general Kawartha Lakes area is of interest, but you can’t make this hike, let the hike leader know by text message. If there is enough interest, this type of hike can be regular weekly/biweekly/monthly event for the summer.
