ORTA Map 2 This 10 km hike will take us from the 18th Sideroad (just east of Hwy 27) in King Township across to Weston Road and the 16th Sideroad.  There will be a mix of road walking and cross-country trekking.  Many hikers avoid road walking but there are huge benefits at this time of year!  See beautiful country properties and farms and have the luxury of walking on stable ground alongside the road.

We will be car shuttling from Km 40 to Km 30 and will need volunteers to drive.

Join our group as we move east to cover the entire Oak Ridges Trail in small, manageable sections.  See all that the Oak Ridges Moraine has to offer in southern Ontario!

Preparing for the Hike: Dress in layers appropriate for the weather.  2 litres of water is still essential during the cold weather; a warm thermos with hot water, tea or other beverage is helpful for the coldest days.  Please bring icers and poles in case we encounter ice on the trail.  No dogs, no drop-outs.

Meeting Point: 16 Sideroad just east of Weston Road.  GPS Coordinates: 43.95545° N, 79.58413° W / W3W: ///animated.liners.litters

Cancellation Policy: Hiking is great fun but it is not worth risking anyone’s life if weather conditions are dangerous.  A confirmation email will be sent out on the Friday preceding the hike if cancellation is necessary due to heavy snow or freezing rain conditions on the day of the hike.  Please check your email before the hike.
